All Passport models feature dual airbags (SRS) as standard equipment. When used in conjunction with seat belts, airbags have been proven to be an effective, life-saving supplemental safety feature during a severe frontal collision. Passport's 3-point seat belts (with rear-center lap belt) are the primary means of passenger protection in all types of vehicle collisions.
ROOMY, COMFORTABLE INTERIOR
The Passport builds on its reputation for roominess and comfort by offering ample headroom, legroom and hiproom at all seating positions. All 4-wheel-drive Passports fearure shift-on-the-fly 4-wheel drive, a system that doesn't require the driver to stop the vehicle in order to engage it. Instead, the driver simply shifts from 2WD (2H) to 4WD (4H) via the dash-mounted 4WD button. Once in 4WD, the driver can select either of the two 4WD modes (4H or 4L). depending on the need; 4H provides the benefit of all-wheel traction on slippery or low-traction surfaces, at speeds up to 60 mph. 4L is for use at low-speeds (45 mph and under). heavy-duty chores such as pulling or climbing and descending very steep grades.
To engage 4L. the vehicle must be stopped and shifted into neutral (or the clutch depressed). To re-engage 4H from 4L, the procedure is reversed. The switch back to 2H from 4H can be done with the dash-mounted 4WD button while the vehicle is being driven.
On 2WD and 4WD EX, driver's and front passenger's overhead map lights are designed into the rearview mirror.
COURTESY DOOR LIGHTS
