Steven Center is the vice president of the Connected & Environmental Business Development Office of American Honda Motor Co., Inc., where he is responsible for the company's efforts to develop business applications of connected technologies, as well as advanced technology vehicle programs, development of new energy-related business opportunities and green dealer recognition programs.
Center joined American Honda in 1993 in Automobile Sales, with an early assignment being the development of a customer marketing database. In the late 1990s, Center led the development of an eBusiness Division to develop a comprehensive strategy regarding the company's approach to the Internet and digital marketing.
In 2004, he became head of Acura Sales, leading the luxury car division to all-time record sales. In 2008, he was appointed Vice President of Marketing Operations, responsible for marketing of both the Honda and Acura automobile brands.
In 2011 Center became the vice president of the newly established Environmental Business Development Office. From 2015 to 2017, he also had responsibility for the company's Product Regulatory Office.
In 2017, Center added responsibility for developing business applications of connected technologies, with a corresponding change in the name of the organization to Connected & Environmental Business Development Office.
Prior to joining American Honda, Center served in numerous sales and marketing roles with other automotive brands.
Steve is a native of New York City. He received his bachelor's degree in economics and business administration-finance from the State University of New York at Albany, and holds an MBA from the University of Southern California.
