Toshiaki Mikoshiba is the president & CEO of American Honda Motor Co., Inc. (AHM), president & CEO of Honda North America, Inc. (HNA) and a senior managing director of Honda Motor Co., Ltd. as well as the COO of North American Regional Operations.
Mikoshiba joined Honda in 1980 and began his career with Honda Motor Co., Ltd. After serving in several automobile sales positions in Japan, Mikoshiba was assigned as a sales trainee at American Honda, serving in automobile field sales from 1985-1987.
Mikoshiba returned to automobile sales at Honda Motor Co. in 1987. He then returned to American Honda from 1992-1997 in Automobile Operations, where he played a major role in the creation of a state of the art vehicle allocation system called MOVE (Market Oriented Vehicle Environment) that launched in 1997 and was awarded a U.S. Patent.
Mikoshiba also supported American Honda's first entry into the light truck category, leading the planning and sales launch of the Honda Passport light truck. He then moved to the Product Planning Department where he was involved in the Acura brand's shift to an alphanumeric model name strategy.
From 1997 to 2008, Mikoshiba held a variety of positions within the Automobile Sales Operations of Honda Motor in Japan, including general manager of the Automobile Marketing Office and general manager of the CS and Auto Sales Development Division.
Mikoshiba became an operating officer of Honda Motor Co. in 2008, when he moved to Europe as executive vice president and director of Honda Motor Europe, Ltd., with responsibility for Europe, the Middle and Near East and Africa Regional Operations.
From 2009 to 2011, he held the position of president and director of Honda Motor Russia, LLC., with responsibility for Honda operations in Russia and CIS countries.
From 2011 to 2014, Mikoshiba held the position of president of Guangqi Honda Automobile Co., Ltd. in China.
In April 2014, Mr. Mikoshiba became a managing officer of Honda Motor Co., as well as COO of Europe Regional Operations and President and Director of Honda Motor Europe, Ltd. In April 2015, he became a senior managing officer of Honda Motor Co.
In April 2016, he became president and CEO of both American Honda and HNA and COO of North American Regional Operations for Honda Motor Co.
In April 2017, he became a senior managing director of Honda Motor Co.
