A new Honda concept vehicle called "Model X" will debut at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit, American Honda Motor Co., Inc., announced today. The Honda Model X was conceived at the inaugural X Games in San Diego in 1998 and is targeted at young male buyers. The concept was developed by Honda R&D Americas and designed at the company's Los Angeles Center. "Model X is all about versatility and function," said Tom Elliott, American Honda executive vice president. "It combines the best features of a pickup truck with the best features of a sports utility vehicle, and adds a college dorm for good measure. It's designed to provide everything you need for the ultimate road trip."
The Honda Model X will be unveiled at a Jan. 9, 2001 press conference during the North American International Auto Show in Detroit.
